Default Help, 6.5" speaker won't fit into 00 civic

hey guys i am kinda new here, I have bought a set of Rockford P163C to replace my front speaker, then i realize the stock speaker is only 6.25". The mounting hole doesn't match the stock mounting hole, so do i just drill the new hole? I know I will have to cut the speaker pod becuase the new speaker is too big. But just wanna make sure before I start cutting anything, and will I still be able to close it with stock speaker cover? can anyone who have done this give me some idea? thanks so much.

The stock speakers are standard 6.5", they use a 5" diameter mounting hole, [and are no more then 2" deep] the R/F P163C are over-sized] 6.5" speakers and need a 5.7" diameter mounting hole and need 2.8" of mounting depth.
Depending on how high the tweeter "bridge" is you may be able to use a 1" MDF depth reducer, [spacer] to mount the speaker, if that is too high a thinner, [3/4", 5/8" or 1/2" spacer can be used and the back of the stock plastic speaker housing has to be cut out to allow for the speakers magnet.

The best way is to replace the stock plastic speaker housing with a custom MDF speaker housing. 94

PS, where in Winterpeg?

You will have to make the custom speaker housings yourself, it's not that hard.

I worker at Muntz, Western Sound and Soundtrack and lived in St James area, just got tired of the short MC riding season. 94
