help with 12 volt wire (doesnt work)

Default help with 12 volt wire (doesnt work)

ok im wiring up a cd player to my car. The previous onwer screwed up the whole audio system so... looking through the radio wiring harness i find the acc 12v wire it works but the always on 12v doesnt. So i look at the fuse and its not blown any idea?????

are you sure you checked the correct fuse. usually the constant 12v isnt labeled radio. also year, make, and model would help.

Did you just "look" at the fuse or did you verify that it isn't blown with a meter or test light?

There are 2 fuses to check, one under the dash and one under the hood.

ok the make and model is a 1993 Nissan pathfinder

and yes i checked the fuse and it was fine because its on the same fuse as the a/c and it works fine

i looked under the hood and i couldnt find one

today i hooked the constant and the acc together and connected it to the acc (it works)
from the wire spliced from the harness it works for now but of course it doesnt keep presets,time, etc.

any other suggestions?


P.S i know this is HONDA-tech but all the nissan forums are never updated

Run a fused 12ga power wire from the batt. to behind the Hu and connect the HUs constant to it. Kind of like you would for a power wire for an amp. 94
