Default Ground loop Isolater

Any one know of a good ground loop isolater? I want one that also has a delayed turn on.

I have a NSX, I have installed a aftermarket amp to the stock head unit. The head unit has wired low level outs. I installed RCA's. I get a very small whine at very low volume. I also get a pop when I turn on the stereo. I would like to eliminate this.

I beleive radio shack sells them, however why don't you try and scrape the paint wherever your ground wire from your amp is wired..it might help

the pop is not a good thing, but at least you're headed in the right direction

but since you do have an NSX, why not drop by a radio shop and pay them 50 bux to fix the problem..it might be worth it.

good luck

Nick

Radio shop is not going to be able to get rid of the popping unless they have something like I described. I could build something myself, but I don't have the time. I also don't think they would be able to get rid of the whinning noise, the entire car is mad out of aluminum and the amplifier is in the trunk. Plus I would rather my hands do it, that way if it gets f#$@ up I can only blame myself.

I used one of these years ago on my first car.

None of the larger car audio manufacturers seem to make these. I think pyramid makes one though.

Have you considered making a run of 10 or 12 gauge from your hu and any processors you have, back to the trunk, so you can have a common ground.

I think the ss2p might work found here I don't need it's switching capabilities I just want the turn on mute. I need two of them. Any one know where to get them for cheaper than $70 each. At this price I may just build my own.

Vteg,
Yes I planned on running a seperate ground for the amp. I just don't have the time to tear everything apart again. I am not really into stereos anymore so I don't have anything fancy. Not to mention I am stuck with the stock deck. I have a Illusion audio sub and a 5 channel fosgate amplifier in the trunk. My soundstream 10.2, picasso and my DSP have been collecting dust for the past 2 years. Nice Class A amplifiers going to waste

possibly better deal. but these are just delayed mechanical relays, might help at much cheaper!

I wonder if that can stop the pop from my hu on some mp3's. Tell us how it works for you.

You should not get any pop from an MP3. If you are something is wrong with your encoder. This device mutes the input until the amplifier turns on.

I am guessing encoder problem. I spoke to someone else with an alpine also, he also got it with old mp3's. It is happening with my old cd's I made 3 years ago. I have no clue what I was using back then.

I forget about the pop, until I put in the wrong cd
