Default Fuel Pump Kill

Is it ok to put your kill switch anywhere along the fuel pump wire? In the Cause for alarm fuel kill the pictures show the kill installed down by the drivers running board. Could you extend the wire that is right under the seat (right where it comes up from the fuel pump) and go to the passenger side?

No. Too much added resistance between the extra wire & switch.

If you're going to do this, you can mount the switch where you originally planned, but it will need to drive a relay instead of directly controlling the pump.

Are you saying there will be too much resistance because it will have to travel further?

The way I'm planning is only about 1.5 feet away, so 3ft total of extension wire.

thats a what, 18ga wire? you know fuel pumps cut the GPH quite a bit when the voltage drops. A relay is your BEST and almost only option here.
