fiberglass question
I'm in the process of making my new sub box out of fiberglass.
I'm wondering if I should lay all my layers at once, or...
If I should put 1 layer down, wait for it to dry, lay another one, wait for it to dry, and yada yada yada
What's the proper way of doing it?
What are the pros and cons of both methods?

Also, is there a good reason why people still use an mdf ring to support the sub in a fiberglass enclosure?
I don't need the sub to be recessed in the enclosure, I'm fine with it sitting on the surface.
If I glass thicker where the ring would be, could I get away from using any mdf at all?

You do not need the MDF, however it is a good idea, I always use a 1" ring or plate as I find the sub sounds better when mounted to wood then it does when mounted to fiberglass, [or any other material for that matter] also it is a lot easier to get an absolutely flat surface with the MDF then it is with just fiberglass, and a flat mounting surface and an airtight seal is critical to subs performance.
