ive already made the shape with cloth and laid the resin down. what is the easiest way to smooth the texture? i started using bondo but its really becoming a mess. any tips?

 

I'm really confused here....I'm assuming that you built some type of mold, then stretched some fleece over the mold, and coated it with resin? If so, you must back up the resined fleece with some more glass...either chop mat, or just strands and res mixed up (kitty hair) or even some cloth or knytex.

For the surface, you are stuck with bondo. The resined fleece should sand pretty well, but then you are stuck with plastic body filler to get it perfect. What are you covering it with?

 

so i need to add glass mat and resin? im new to this and just need to make sure. the fleece and glass are holding up pretty well, but its not a full fiberglass enclosure its just the top. im planning to have it painted to match the car or maybe just wrap it in vinyl.
