Default factory keyles entry...

ok guys i have a 96 ex coupe and when i got the car the guy gave me a keyless entry and alarm remote but it doesnt work...yes im not that dumb the remote has new battery and lights up when you push a button. but how do i find out why the keyless and alarm doesnt work?

First off, you need to be more detailed in your explanation of your setup.

Is the remote you have factory Honda or after market? If after market what brand is it? Is the stock head unit in the car?

i have the factory remote, but the factory headunit didnt work so i have one of my buddys factroy integra cd player in there now.

That's your problem, the keyless entry is built into the head unit on 96-98 civics.
