Default eclipse ESN help.

i know this is probly a waste of time because i probly have to either send it in or throw it away but here goes.

does anybody know any other way to get around the esn feature on the cd players? a friend of mine bought a car at an auction and the cd player was in it, battery was replaced and now the cd player doesn't work so he gave it to me. a read on another forum that you can ground the two solder points on the bottom of the chassis and it will reset it but i tried that and it didn't work. i think the model is a 5431 or 5341 or something like that.

try calling eclipse. I don't think u can reset it on those models because they do require the correct cd to be put in.

Here is what will have to happen:
a-find an eclipse dealer (Circuit City)
b-have dealer contact Eclipse warranty dept.
c.-request an ESN change over form.
d- provide copys of bill of sale, your DL,etc-all that is required, etc
e.-submit all required paperwork, plus small sacrificed animal to Eclipse
f.-Once all conditions are met,Eclipse will unlock radio.

Its a great program...if you are the original purchaser. With decks basically being commodities now is it worth the paperwork? You decide.

going to an Eclipse dealer won't do you much good. that deck is too old anyways. it has to be sent into eclipse to get it unlocked. there's no other way

Sounds good to me.

Sorry to anyone who wants to know how to do it.

Just look at the radio and think to yourself about how to "erase the memory" of the esn disk stored.

Good luck and let me know if you guys figured it out like I did .
