Default crossover and impedance

question for you guys....

I really have never spent the time to understand crossover design but have a question

I've currently got a Dyn 340 set and tweeter blew a while back. I can't remember the new model numbers but the tweets on the latest and greatest 3-way sets have a tweeter that can handle more power. At volume levels I wouldn't necessarily say are outlandish though tweets regularly cut-out. I can't remember the SPL of my system....maybe in the 110 to 120 level if I remember correctly....it's been a while since I measured it.

Anyway, the new tweets are 6 ohms rather than 4. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe impedance changes or can change based on frequency. So, if I've got a crossover that was designed for a 4-ohm speaker but decided to take a set of tweets and either run them at 6-ohms or wire them in parallel to get a 3 ohm load how well will the passive crossover that shipped w/ the speaks deal with different impedance?

I think the model num for the old 340 tweet is md100.

One other question for those somewhat familiar with Dyn and their sister company Scan-Speak.....anyone know of a Scan tweet that would work well with my 340 set but are able to handle a bit more power?

I'd turn down the gains if I could but my front setup is driven by a single amp and I'm not too keen on reducing the output of my entire front stage.....
