Constant 12v
Are constant 12v wires fused or does power comes straight from the battery? Is it possible to splice into the radio harness' constant 12v or will it blow something because there's too much drainage.

Your alarm needs a dedicated 12v circuit, tapped either directly to the battery or wired into the ignition harness (preferred). If you hook it to the constant lead on your radio, what happens if the radio fuse blows? You have no alarm.

No you cannot. That circuit is designed to handle 7.5 amps of current. Replacing the fuse with one with a higher rating will create a hazard.

You can tap your alarm brain power wire off the 12 consant off the radio harness. Just don't try to connect the remote start harness off of it. I done it many of times and still do it to this day, I never had a problem with the radio fuse blowing or going out. Even with the siren going off and the parking lights flashing. Just make sure you run a Dei back-up battery for you alarm. It isolates the alarm off the car battery and gives it its own.
12v is the white wire coming from the ignition harness....

Not trying to be a post ***** but do you know the benifits of grabing wires off the radio harness? Hum, Parking lights, Ingintion wire, and 12 volts. Some cars you can get door locks, and horn. Some fords you can allow push button start off the radio.

what's funny is that I was working on my car earlier and that was where I wired it up to, very good place for concealment. Thanks All
