compustar remote start help!
So I got the basic alarm part all wired up, but when I arm it the alarm goes off and says that the doors are open. Could it be that I dont have my dome light in? And I don't know where to connect the black wire on the third white plug its labeled as 250 Ma status out(gwr). Is this just a normal ground?
Edit its a cm6000 going in a 94 civic ex

Re: compustar remote start help!
Well I got the alarm part all figured out but I can't get the car to go into reservation mode. When I pull the key out of the ignition the car stays on, I pull the e brake and close the door and the car stays on and the doors don't lock. I have the tach wire connected to the alarm, the foot brake and e brake going to the alarm too.

You have to put it into "reservation" mode before you turn the ign. switch off.
1- Place transmission in neutral.
2- Set hand brake.
3- Remove foot from foot brake.
4- Turn ign. off and remove key, open door, get out, close door.
Engine should shut down instantly or within 10 sec., alarm will arm and doors will lock.
The cars door pins must be working properly, the dome light does not need to be there but the pin switches must still work. 94
The GWR, [status output] is an output ground when in remote start mode, connect it to the output of the CIS, [should be a blue/black lead], it will supply the starter relay with the ground the CIS would supply when you step on the clutch peddle.

Ok I got that part down. I got it to go into reservation mode anecdotes when I try to remote start it the car turns on just wont start and shows a error code 8. Which is tach sensing fail. But I have the tach sensing wire connected to the blue wire on the cluster harness. I followed suspended hatch's cause for alarm webiste

What audioroach said^^^.
However, I never use the blue tach lead, I always use a control lead on one of the injectors for "tach" signal on any car with fuel injection. 94

Re: compustar remote start help!
Ok I got the alarm to learn the tach signal, the car goes into reservation mode, but when I try to remote start it, it turns on the accessories, I hear the fuel pump, and then I hear the brain click to turn the starter over and no response from the starter. Then it tries to start 3 more times and fails, gives me the error code 8. I have the yellow starter wire going to the black/white wire on the ignition. But I noticed the brain is supposed to have a yellow/black wire also and mines doesn't.maybe that's why it wont start?

It worked when I stepped on the clutch peddle. I'm guessing its the connection to the CIS. Ill really check my connections

Re: compustar remote start help!
So I still can't get the car to remote start. I have the GWR connected to the blue/blk at the clutch interlock switch and it only still starts if I'm sitting in the car stepping on the clutch peddle. So I connected my test light to a constant 12v source and when I put it to the GWR no light on. And I reversed and and nothing still. Yes the car was in reservation mode trying to start while doing this

If in fact the GWR line is not working, then yes you would need a new brain.
However I would confirm it is not working, make sure the lead is not just unplugged, or not pin is not just de-pinned, test for ground right at the brain.
The GWR you are using, is it a black lead, [Status Output, CN2/2]?
You can also try the green ign. output or the red/black starter output, CN2/3 and CN2/5 on the same plug, if your not using them, both are neg.(-) outputs.
The neg.(-) ign. and starter outputs are used to control relays if needed, and a 94 Civic does not have a 2nd starter or 2nd ign. lead that needs connecting for remote start. 94

Re: compustar remote start help!
Yeah I made sure the wire wasn't broken or de-pinned and it wasn't. I tested for power right at the brain and got nothing. Ill try the other two leads, and if nothing ill call compustar. I just pulled it outta my old 93 civic and it was working then.

Re: compustar remote start help!
The status output isn't power. Its a negitive output. Test for ground on that output and use a relay. If not just bypass the clutch. Find the two pin plug above the clutch and connect the wires together and presto!

Re: compustar remote start help!
Ditto the above^^^ it is a ground output not a power output, however you do not need a relay on it, it controls a relay, [starter/starter cut relay] so current draw is less then 250mA.94
