Default Components are acting up...

today i was driving home from work, and while comign back the driver side tweeter and 6.5 woofer went out. a couple of seconds later it started to smell burning. when i got home i checked them out and the terminals looked rusty. the speakers still work i connected them directly to the amp and they work. do you guys think it could be the crossover. or wires touching?

Make sure the wires arent touching... and to check if it is the crossover, connect it on the passenger side and see if it works.

yea i'd say it's the crossover too, is the crossover is in your door... did you make sure you wrapped it in a plastic bag or something to ensure no matter got into it?
