Well, I would take the QSD series MB Quarts first...I really don't like MB that much, but for 1700 a set, the have done a lot to mellow out the thier typically bright tweeter.
Next would be the Diamond HEX...I had a set and loved them.
I don't care for either the bostons or the perfects...just my opinion.

Diamonds have always sounded sweet, never a fan of MB (but haven't heard the new ones), and Boston has always had a nice mellow sound. If you are going SQ competition I would use the Diamonds.
Haven't heard the Perfect components yet but I love the 12.1 sub.
Boston Pro's sound _very_ nice.
The Q-series MB's are very nice. If you go w/ a model lower (ref premium), know in advance that you'll get shitty midbass from them. They are extremely accurate producing mid-range and high's tho. To get the "tinny shriek" out, adjust the jumpers on the x-over.
Have only heard good things about Diamond audio.
Another recommendation I have is Alpine's Type R component series (at least the 6.5's). Just put them in my gf's car. Tested them head to head w/ my old MB Quart Reference premiums and enjoyed the Alpine's a lot more. Lots more mid-bass and "Boston Pro" like highs and clarity. And they were half the price!
