component speakers
I was thinking of getting a set of components for sq. I narrowed down my choice to boston pro series, diamond hex series, mb quarts, image dynamics. Of these, which is the best sounding? I have heard the boston and quarts but not the other two.
they are all good sounding speakers.
i would lean towards mb quarts and diamond, but that is a matter of taste.
if you are really into sq get at least a 9 band eq (and not some cheap *** bass booster eq ...these usually start at like 500) and tune the sound using a set of expensive (at least 100) headphones as a reference for what they SHOULD sound like.

I would go for Focal Polykevlar line as my first choice. Then from there Diamond, Dynaudio, and Image Dynamics. I don't put Rainbow in this selection because they are pricey more then the Focals.
I would go for Focal if you want great SQ but that is just me. I am kind of a Focal **** I guess. But best of luck in your choices. Hope you enjoy your system.
I don't like MB Quart but that is just me I guess.

You don't have to be made out of money to buy Focal. He can pick up a set of the Focal Polykevlar 165k's for 299$ with free shipping and no these are not fakes either.
I personally think that MB does not stand a chance against a set of Focals but that is just me and my .02$

Getting opinions on components/brands is always a good thing because you get general experience/knowledge, but i find the best thing to do is audition. Always audition speakers in a car so that you know what they really sound like. There is no point in buying Boston splits if someone tells you they sound good. You will be the one listening to them therefore you need to make sure they sound good to you and that you don't get fatigued when listening to them.

i got myself a pair of diamond audio hex, s600s to be exact. i love them. im using an audio control eq along with arc audio amps. they sound a lot better than the focals, but thats because im using an audio control with a max 13 volt preout out put.
Hey, I am in so cal. I need an amp for my new head unit right now. If you got some hook up, it would be appreciated. I also would like to listen to the focals and diamonds. My car audio knowledge is outdated
