Complete Noob Doing a DIY Sub Installation....help?
Ok, so I got a free sub and amp from a friend and I want to put them into my 1998 Honda Civic.....
Sub:

Amp:

What do you guys think of this setup? Well it is free...haha
Anyway, thats all I have, and I currently have an aftermarket headunit in there (Alpine CDA-9807) so what all do I need to do this installation, an amp wiring kit? Also, is there some kind of tutorial I can follow? and How difficult is this installation? Thanks.

good strt..bridge the rear channels on the amp to run the sub and use the two front channels for you door speakers....get a complete 4awg or a 8awg wiring kit..it'll have power wire, ground wire, rca wire and a remote wire. The 4awg is bigger than you need for this amp, but just incase you wanna upgrade later on all you have to do is split the 4awg into two 8awgs instead of running all new wire:

From: hittin corners so hard you can taste my rims..
amp specs.. 150W x 2 (at 2 Ohms) + 300W x1 (at 4 Ohms) Max Power
sub specs.. RMS Power Range (Watts) 50-120
if i were you, since that amp isn't expensive and as nice as the higher end amps on the market, your going to have to over rate the power on your amp, so you can get the power, without having to overload the amplifire.
lemme try and explain another way. when you over power a component (speaker) with a amp, and only use say 1/2 the amps' power, its called headroom. so that amp isn't working as hard.
and the reason why your making 300w on 1 channel, is because its double 2 channels.
ok.. so if i were you, i would run that 1 10" sub, a 2ohm in series.. that will give you a final impedance of 4 ohms.
since you doing 1 sub, and not that much wattage, you can get away with a small gauge amp wiring kit. 8 ga is fine. do some searches on the net/google about installing amps, and wiring kits, its not that hard.
