Default Is this compatible?

I bought 2 dual voice coil MTX T5512-44 12" subs. Along with that, I also bought 1 MTX mono block Thunder 5601 amp.

Now, for my question....

The subs are both 300RM, 4 ohms. The amp is 300 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms / 600 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms.

What I am lost on is since this is not a single coil sub will it still work with this setup? If so, how would I need to wire it.

Thanks

So that'd make it to 2 ohms right? I thought that would cut it down to 1 ohm. Just want to be sure because I'll be installing this today. Thanks.

Sorry but you should have got the svc 4 ohm voice coil. Your not going to get a single 2 ohm load with 2 dvc 4 ohm. The lowest your going to get is 1 ohm and your amp can not handel that. Or a 4 ohm load which is going to underpower your speakers.

Thanks! I just wanted to be sure .

Just to be sure the Alpine Type-R 12s (model 1222d) DVC would work right? They are 2 ohms each sub.

Although the Alpines will work, you do not have enough power to drive them properly, the Alpine SWR-1222D are DVC 2 ohm 500W continues 1500W peak
You would need an amp that makes 1000W RMS into 1, 2 or 8 ohms.

If you already have the amp, find two 300W SVC 4 ohm subs or two 300W DVC 2 ohm subs, better yet, find two 250W-275W subs a little overpowered is a good thing, can you say headroom? 94
