chirp button
i wnated to wire up a chirp button where my car chirps on a momentary switch. and im pretty sure that u would wire one side to the alarm and other to a power source..but im afraid i might blow a fuse with the powersrc...i was thinking about runing it to my stereo deck but not sure if that would work...anyone mind clearing this up? because i know this can be done with out a relay. and sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Worst idea I've ever heard. First of all, you must have a horn as part of your safety inspection. Here in NY, if your horn doesn't work, you don't pass. I'm sure that in oh-so-strict CA, the law is similar.
You can wire this up for fun, but please don't rely on it for your horn. What happens when you're on the freeway, and some ******* is talking on his cell phone and tries to merge into your lane while you're right next to him. I doubt he'll hear it over his conversation, the radio & road noise. It's not like your siren is penetrating like a police/fire siren.
Let's use some common sense here....
Anyways.. This actually isn't that hard... Although not ideal, you could tap power behind the radio. You really should be using the freepin on the fuse box. Fuse the lead with a 3 or 5 amp fuse, and run this wire to the siren wire.
I would think that you'd need to put a diode inline to keep the power from backfeeding into the alarm when you hit the switch, but I'm not too sure.
