Default Bridging

I have a fairly simple question. I have a 400 watt amp pushing a 1, 15" sub thats suppose to be good up to 600 watt. Now my question is if i use the channel thats bridged does that mean im pushing 800 watt? or just full 400 watt? because now i'm using the bridged channel and its hitting twice as hard

more info on amp... it should have specs for its bridged connection.. and what exactly did you bridge? from lack of info, do you happen to have a dual voice coil sub that you just increased the Ohm load on?
