ok, can someone tell me how i can tell if i have a blown amp just by physical appearance?

open up the chassis and see if there is anything unusual. maybe black smoke on the circuit board? lose transistor or chip? take a picture, post it on here, and we'll see from there.

Haha. Everytime I sniff electronics, they always smell wierd to me.

Easiest way is to check for power ground and remote. If they are present, and it is not turning on then it is dead.

smell the amp it will smell like electricity burn or smoke a weird smell you will no once you smell it
