Default bass problem

ok i have a amp that does 200 watts rms and i have 4 guage wiring
my sub is a boss 12 inch dunno the specs
4 pioneer 4 way 6.5 speakers that do 50 watts rms each
pioneer hu
ok when i stop when i have my lights on or air on my bass goes out for a few seconds. what does this mean? i made my battery ground with 4 guage and made a new shorter spot for it with gold plated terminals. could it be my alternator grounds? or is it that my battery is very weak

sounds like you're getting a voltage drop, do the lights dim when you hit the brakes? if they do put a meter on the battery while the car is running, it should read ~14.4 volts. if its a lot lower than that check and charge the battery and if the problem persists, check the alternator. other than that check the wiring on the amp, especially the grounds.

Or take the car to a batt. shop and get them to do a load/grav. check on the elec./charging system, it only takes a min. and most shops, [if not all] will do it for free, it will tell you what the volt and amp output of the alt. is, what condition the batt. is in and how much power is being drawn when things are on 94

Hey, don't forget to check your grounds. I saw an issue like this and ever since I've doubled up on battery grounds and made very secure ground blocks for the amps.
