Default bad actuators??

The other day, I decided to add power door locks to my '94 Del Sol. I used the DEI 524N actuators for each door. After several attempts, it is not working at all. At first, I tried to test the actuators by touching the green/blue wires to a 12V battery source. The actuators seem to work fine but after the install, nothing seems to work. Also, I wired the (2) 40A relays according to the diagram that was supplied with the 524N's. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Double check your wiring, your diagram is correct. I would take ground and tap terminal 86 on your relays (one at a time) and see what happens, this will tell you if its a wiring issue or a lock output issue. If your lock ouputs are positive, that could be the issue, many alarms have selectable lock/unlock outut polarity, you need a (-) pulse with the above diagram.

Kirk, that's the weird thing about it. I triple checked the wiring and everything seems fine. That method....isn't that the same as in touching the blue and the green wires (from the actuators) to a 12V drill battery? It worked prior to the install, but afterwards, nothing moves anymore.

Tap each relay at a time to 86 with a ground. It should click and lock. If not you do not have a good ground or 12volts to the relays. Or the alarm is not grounded corrretly to ouput the signal.

hey JSPECSIR, I'm in Charlotte. I am going to buy two more actuators and re-do the install when I have the time. IMO, I believe I messed them up because they won't move at all when I put +12v/ground to them. If that doesn't work, I will eventually change out my alarm system since I have been meaning to do so for a while now. Thanks by the way for the offer of checking it out.
