so i just sold my pioneer AVIC-d1 to a friend of mine and now i need a new CD player, i've heard alot of good things about alpine and i want something that you can run the ipod as easily as using the ipod. there's has been talk about Alpine being bought by i believe panasonice, therefore the quality of Alpine's stereos has gone the drain...

Where or who did you hear this from???

Back to the OP the Alpine iDA-X001 was designed by Alpine and Apple specifically for integration with the iPod, the **** on the middle of the face of the HU is suppose to be used just like the click wheel on the ipod. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to test the unit out. Personally I really don't how this specific HU looks.

so as far as ipod integration this hu could possibly be one of the best on the market? any thoughts on ordering one off ebay?

I would avoid ordering it from eBay. Shop around before you resort to buying it from ebay.

i wouldnt be surprised by that
lookin at their line out right like the cda-9856 cda-9857 & so on

complete garbage compared to their older stuff

 

Well, i just purchased this unit along with the HD radio tuner for it, should be comming in the mail early this week, ill post some pics of the install

As far as ordering things off of ebay; yes i did buy both off ebay, i bought the square trade warenty for the HU. I don't see why everyone is so skeptical about ebay, there are legit buisinesses on there, and those are who i buy from, every piece of car stereo equipment i have every bought has come from ebay excluding my current subwoofer setup...want to know what percentage failed? 0% thats right, 100% of everything i've ever bought on there has been 100% functinal
