Default Anyone else have remote problems with the Compustar spread spectrum?

problems like it takes a few times to get it to respond, or it doesnt work in certain places. I just wanted to know if there are any tricks to make it respond better. I seperated my remote from my keys and it seems to work better now.

At work, it works when im outside, but once i go in it doesnt.

i have metallic tint on the back and rear windows, will removing it help?

Metallic tint isn't helping. Have you replaced the battery? Try one of those newfangled lithium photo batteries. Put one of those bad-boys into my Viper transmitter and made all the difference.

It sounds to me like there is a problem, how long have you had the unit?

If replacing the batt. does not help, take it back to where you got it, and have them check it out, problem my be in remote or in the main unit, the main unit has a lifetime warranty on it and the remote has a 1 year warranty on it. 94

the compustar SS alarm has a few problems since it had first been released...

at certain battery levels, reception sux, response sux, the whole alarm is real delayed at responding to your key presses....

so what i suggest to a customer who has purchased one from us is replace the battery more often, dont wait for it to fully drain...

its a real common problem with the ss alarm, but its bearable.. just replace the battery

<who hopes compustar comes out with an updated remote/antenna combo

I have a few customers with the older Compustars that are using rechargeable batt. and it has solved their problems, [short batt. life]

On another note the newer 2W900FM-A, S, AS introduced in the first half of 04 was a "re-tooled" version of the 900MHz technology used in the 2WSS series, longer batt. life faster response time, and oh yea, less range, [a lot of power was needed to transmit a signal 6000 ft]

What model do you have Junkyard2000?

i have the 2wass. I called the guy and he said the technology just isnt all there yet. Thats why i wanted to know if other people are experiencing the same problems, if not then it may be an installation error or faulty remote or brain. Im waiting until my tilt sensor comes in before i go back, its a 45 min drive. The other thing i noticed is once i get in the car and start it, the doors dont lock.

OIC the older model, try the rechargeable batt. it has worked well for my customers with the older units, [cheaper in the long run] allows you to keep a full charged batt. in the remote all the time, without costing you an arm and a leg.

For the door lock problem, I am not sure what you mean, you have power door locks and they no longer work once motor is running?
Or the ign. controlled door locks are not working? 94

the car doesnt have power door locks. Im talking about the ignitionc ontrolled, where the alarm is supposed to make them lock once the car starts.
