Default Antenna Switch ?

I heard that you can put a switch on a stock integra cd player (or any HU) so that when your listening to a cd your antenna will not be up unless you flip the switch. anyone know how to install a switch like this?

thanks

Well... On the back of aftermarket decks their is a blue wire labelled "Power antenna Lead" And it does exactly what it says. This wire also serves as the "remote" for any additional amplifiers you have in the vehicle.

I imagine that if you just find this wire on the back of your deck and hook it up through a switch that would work.... maybe not actually.... you might have cut that wire and run one of the constant power wires from the back of the deck through the switch into the power antenna line.. yeah that would work...

*Vtec wonders why he second guesses himself online and then writes it anyway*

Anyway, I'm sure someone on here know's what I'm talking about and can explain it better.

If you find the wire to the power antenna in the stereo harness, just extend the wires and put a switch. When the wire is powered by the HU, it will raise the antenna. When the wire is not energized, the HU is off or the switch is off, the antenna would stay down.

The Sony cdx-mp450 I just got has separate antenna/amp leads. When I listen to CD's the antenna comes down automatically

I put a separate switch in my console for the antenna, cuz i HATE the look of an antenna on an integra. All you have to do is lengthen the wire for the antenna out of the the back of the stereo and put a little switch somewhere in the middle so you can break the signal. it's relatively simple if you know ANYTHING about electronics. Good luck and have fun!!!

I havent checked back at this post in awhile. Well i did it, finally. Now i need to find a good place to put the switch. I used some old small speaker wire to extend the antenna wire so i could put the switch by the ebrake just for now. Will i have problems with this wire?
