Default Another CLUB Device Thread

Although electronics are superior, how effective are those clutch/gas pedal locks similar to the ones in the link below?

Only effective along with an alarm, they will slow a thief down, not by much if the crook knows what he is doing, there are more effective, [and cheaper] ways to prevent them driving away with your car. 94

When you say more effective and cheaper, are you talking about fuel, started and ignition cut offs?
I know it isnt the best thing, but I know it will deter some thiefs and slow them down somewhat. I dont have anything special, so I figure if a thief sees some protection, he will go for a more easier target will more mods.

As fcm is saying, and as has been said in many threads before this one, security comes in layers. Each layer becomes more effective when buried beneath yet another layer.

On it's own, a club is a token security device at best. Even 12 year old thieves new to the game know how to get past them (this is no exaggeration, I knew of a 12 year old thief).

I have seen more than a few posts of the pedal locks being bypassed here on HT.

Ok, I have done some layers now and would still like one of these devices to help deter a potential thief or a best give them a few extra minutes of work. Plus, I get them for 50% off for being a geico customer.
What do you guys think about the shield for the steering wheel with the club, or should I just get the pedal lock?
Thanks

These devices are tokens at best. Just get the cheapest and most convenient.

I recommend both the club and autolock. They defeated ALL the electronic security and back ups. Yes, the club and autolock can be beat, but it just may be too much work compare to the next car that is parked next to you.
