Default which amp is suggested?

i have (1) 12" JL w6 and was wondering what is a good amp to go with it, right now i am using a 2 ch mtx amp, i bridged it with the sub wired in parallel and it sometimes doesnt work. im guessing b.c the amp isn't supposed to go lower then 4ohms bridged? is this correct? thanks

A safe bet would to be to go with any Fosgate (600w) but buy used and save yourself the money. Amps ususally have a decent life expectency.

what about memphis and JL? mono blocks? when an amp's spec says for instance, 300watts rms @ 4 ohms, can it be a little higher or lower ohms?

when bridged for 300 watts at 4 ohms, can i run at 3ohms? since the jl w6 is D6, so that means i cant get 4 ohms, so is it ok for me to run it at 3ohms when its supposed to be 4?

Get an amp that can safely run 2 ohms. You run the risk of killing an amp that is only stable to 4 ohms.

PPI, wtf is that? JL 500/1, plenty of power for that bad boy, jl rapes any other amp at 4 ohms, plus it matches

PPI = VERY reputable car audio manufacturer (known for their amps)

JL only does 500w @ 4 ohms for $350. For that amount of money, you can get a quality amp with more power.

JL Audio amps are great. I have 1000/1 amps going to my 2 12" w7 and they rock great. best thing i ever put in the car.

My arc does 900 watts @ 4 ohms bridged. It is about the same price per watt probably.

I recommend a jl amp because of those crazy impedances and 6 ohm coils.
