Default Amp Power vs. Sub Max.

Can I get an Amp that will put out more than what my sub requires for its max or will it damage the sub? I'm going to switch out subs a bit later and put in 2 10" in about double (or more) the wattage that my current one uses now. Thanks!

yeah you can, just tune it. I've seen more blown speakers from under powering than over powering

well your subs should have a recommended RMS as well as a max wattage.. if your amps RMS output exceeds the subs max.. just dont turn the gain up too much and tune it so that your amp is putting enough power to make it hit but not blow them out..
