Default AMP Advice ?

I am looking at getting this enclosed box for my SI so i can finally get back in too the audio game i love Kicker and this is what i am aiming for -

Kicker 07DCVR122 Vented enclosure with dual 12" CompVR subwoofers at Crutchfield.com

I listen to mostly rap, rock, dance, pop would i be better off with 2 10's ? i want really hard hitting bass that can be heard coming but sound clean.

I just need some advice on the perfect amp to run the dual 12'' Kicker comp vr's i posted above i want a mono amp but need some advice on the best 1 for the money and how many watts would be sufficient thanks in advance.

12's are fine. The kicker vr's are not amazingly "clean" sounding. This would be a good amp for the kickers http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=115 .

The jl setup would be cleaner but not quite as loud http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=112 . This amp is okay with the jl http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=115 or use the kicker amp for maximum power.

Good luck

Although I pretty much agree with the above, the 12" Kickers will be pretty loud, but are not the "cleanest' sub out there, but will easily do the job, although I would look for something with 1x800W RMS into 2 ohms, [or bigger], the subs are 750W continuous and it is always better to be over-powered.

I agree that the JLs would be cleaner and not necessarily "not as loud" although with the Alpine amp they definitely would not be as loud and severally underpowered, the JLs are 600W continuous and the Alpine amp is only 1x300W RMS into 4 ohms.

rap, rock, dance, pop is a pretty wide range of music, I would suggest a sealed box, with 10"-12" subs wired to a 4 ohm load with at least 800W continuous power handling and a 1x1000W RMS into 4 ohms amp, that should be loud enough and as long as the speakers are decent and cabinet is a well built one, SQ should be very good with all the diff. forms of music you listen to. 94

Given your selection I would guess you are on a budget. I was trying to show you the least expensive amps that would work. The alpine is not really enough as fcm said.

Dealing with $400 for subs and a box I would get this http://shop2.frys.com/product/5507660 . And compare the price to crutchfield, damn http://www.crutchfield.com/App...p=112 .

Use the same amp as I recommended earlier http://www.crutchfield.com/App...avf=N .

This is about $700 total. If you want to go with fcm's suggestion "I would suggest a sealed box, with 10"-12" subs wired to a 4 ohm load with at least 800W continuous power handling and a 1x1000W RMS into 4 ohms amp, that should be loud enough and as long as the speakers are decent and cabinet is a well built one, SQ should be very good with all the diff. forms of music you listen to." then prepare to spend about $1200+. Quality costs money. The 1 12" is quality and very loud even though its only one sub.

Here are L5 10s for 115 shipped apiece, brand new.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com....html

Here is your enclosure for 124 shipped.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com....html

It looks like Ikesound sold out of the D2400 amp, so here is another option.
http://cgi.ebay.com/DIRECTED-D...wItem

Refurbished, but 208 shipped.

That brings your total for subs, enclosure and 1200 rms amp to $562.00

You all don't know how to shop

Most of the advice I give people is what to buy not usually where to buy. Look for dealers that offer a warranty and have great customer service. And I'm not sure why people think the D2400 is really all that great

the 2400d is an excellent deal at that price point. There is a 90 day warranty through DEI as well.
