Default Alpine Type-R vs Alpine Type-S Sub

Ok, so I am debating whether which alpine sub to get. I do have a stock alternator on a 1998 Honda Civic EX so I am kinda torn between the two. I am getting the Alpine MRP-M500 amp to power these subs. Since the Alpine Type-R is 500 RMS would it be a little too much for my car? Opinions guys? Thanks

Yea, if he has the $500 retail value to get the sub, and than another couple hundred to get a amp a little more powerful since its RMS is 1000w.

Honestly, go with the Type R. They require 1 cubic ft of airspace if your doing a sealed enclosure, and they honestly dont sound all that bad. Type S...pft, i wouldnt even bother looking at them.
