Alpine or JL?
Ok simlpe Q...
Edit: Im getting a Alpine 7894 HU and an Alpine MRD-M300 amp to power the sub.
One 12"Alpine Type-r sub or a 12" JLw3?
So how does all of this sound as far as a set-up and which sub should I get?

Try to find someone or someplace to listen to both the subs you are considering. As can be expected there are people who are going to say "go for the Alpine man...it kicks ***!" as well as those professing, "JL is the best". Guess what man, it's going to be in YOUR car....not theirs. Listen for yourself. You know there both good companies and the products are high quality so that is not an issue. Sound is the only factor and what you like can only be determined by........
Because of the amps output...I personally would look into a Type S sub or JL 12w0
sub.....the rms output of this amp is approx 100 watts x1 @ 12v /4 ohms ( 150 watts x1 12v / ohms)...its a perfect match for those subs ( it works well within the rms powerband of both.) Just my .02.
