Alpine Type R 6.5 " components in CRX doors

Alpine Type R 6.5 " components in CRX doors
Im having trouble getting these to fit because the window guide is in the way. Is there a way to get these in? Thanks

Yes, you have to replace the stock plastic speaker housings with custom MDF housings, you may even have to space the front window guide back a little.
Or you can go the ghetto route and use depth reducer/spacers. 94

plastic speaker housing? all i see is a hole in the door metal. how would one go about making a MDF housing, and could the stock plastic speaker cover fit over it?

They are rear speaker brackets for the 88-91 CRX.

What was in the doors when you pulled the door panel, were they aftermarket speakers, are there screw holes other then the stock ones around the speaker opening? 94

the plastic housing for the 5.25" speakers had been removed and 6.5" Honda speakers were there held in with 3 screws i believe. im going to remove the door paneling to try to get a better idea of what you are suggesting. im just having trouble picturing it. thanks for the help

to fit them in my ej8 i had to enlarge the hole in the door metal a bit. then i made a 3/4" mdf spacer and screwed them right into that. the plastic speaker cover fit with slight modification with a dremel...not much though.
