Default Alpine System in the works

Ok so im tired of my type-s speakers and i just got rid of my way too damn loud audiobahn sub... im thinkin this for my car as a setup... i already purchased an MRD-M500 mono sub amp to power a SWR-1041D 10" Alpine Type R 4 ohm DVC sub. im gonna ghet rid of the 6x9's in the back and replace the 6 1/2 type s coaxials in the front with SPR-176A 6 1/2 type r component system powered by a alpine MRV-T320 2 channel amp. the components will be run at 4 ohms and the sub will be run at 2 ohms... how does this setup sound to you guys? ive always heard that the type r's were pretty good subs, i dont know about their components tho, but im sure they are pretty high quiality too. just to verify as well, considering i will have the sub, rear speakers will basically be useless considering proper image and all that. let me know what you think.

EDIT: forgot to mention this is in a 4 door 1990 accord.

you asked for it

i have experience and opinions about alpine equipment, their amps are the only thing i wouldn't use again, even though my v12 expert was niiiice

their speakers and h/us are superb can't lose there, and their subs rock

and i think you need rear speakers

care to comment why you dont like their amps and why i need rear speakers... maybe i should just keep the type s 6x9's and power them with my HU just to have as a filler?

rear fill is always good when kept at the right level. their amps are VERY VERY clean but massively underpowered. they are definitely for a small system. PERFECT mate for the type rs at LOW volume.

Okay, why wouldn't you use their amps? Most of their amps THD is below .1% which is hella good for an amp. They aren't "12000" watts rated like some amps are, but they are rated their true or close to true output. Distortion is killer on any subs, alpine stuff is very clear, and the THD is very low as well. The type r components slam dude, so do the type r subs. Only thing you might want to do it get a bigger amp if you want the sub to hit harder. Type r's components, use HPF and let em sing! Good selections man, that's what i have in the ITR.

this doenst really mean much in a car unless the THD is like 50%

I've got an entire alpine system right now and the only thing i'd keep is the head unit. everythign else just doenst tickle my fancy. i cant stand any of the alpine tweeters (with the exception of the F1 status which i havent heard). far too bright in my opinion. I'm going to swap out the type-x for some dynaudio 3ways and see how the amp does then. if i dont like it then butler blue it is or maybe arc

btw....you dont need rear fill.

well this is what im goin for... a slight upgrade with a sub that will NOT hit harder than you can imagine... i want to put it in a sealed enclosure (for cleanliness and space saving) and i just want it to be nice rolling bass.. thats all i really want, something that will sound good and not shake the car that is relitively inexpensive. type r's seem to be the way to go, and ive heard only good things about alpine amps...the only thing i dont have that is alpine right now is my DEH-P840MP pioneer deck, which im sure i will keep for as long as i can. thats thing is perfect for what i want. i guess i will just keep the type s's in the rear and just power them with the HU. ive already got the MRD-M500 bought, and am in the works of buying the MRV-T320 to run at 4 ohms, 50W for the SPR-176A's and the MRD-M500 at 2 ohms, about 400W will power the SWR-1041D in a sealed enclosure. pretty stuck on this setup. thanks for ur help guys

one last question... would a MRV-T420 power the components a little better, or will the MRV-T320 do just fine?

Yes, all alpine stuff is very bright, thats why i like it. It's just like the sound with infinity speakers, some people like it, some don't.
