Default Sound System

I decided I'm going with pretty much all alpine. Just wanted to know your guys' opinions on Alpine vs. other brands, I'm going for overall sound quality with power in mind as well.

Alpine Head Unit http://www.bestbuy.com/site/ol...80755

Alpine 6.5" Type R Component Speakers

Alpine 6"x9" Type R Component Speakers

Rockford Fosgate 1 Farad Capacitor

Alpine Type R 12" Subs

Dynamatting everything of course

Alpine V-Power Amp (do i need a multi-channel/mono/ or 2 channel amp?)

This is my first system im installing so please don't flame me. My friend is hooking me up with his discount from best buy and I'm also getting a cobra radar detector and Viper Alarm System

Just let me know what you think.. thanks.

You can never go wrong with Alpine. I personally don't like the newer / 2006 model of Alpine decks. Can't go wrong with Alpine speakers, and for amps. I would get a 4channel amp for the front/rear speakers, and a monoblock amp for the subwoofer.

so with this setup if i were to get 2 amps would i need another capacitor or would i even need a capacitor at all? i dont want my alternator or battery to get killed so what would you recommend? I'm in the process of building some custom sub enclosures for my Type R's and ill post some shots of the entire setup when im done.

yeah the total for the system is like 1,993 and some change but my friends discount will drop it down to a little less than 800, including a viper alarm system and cobra radar detector.

Alpine & Rockford are the best that bb has to offer.

Personally I'd use an alpine deck (The cda9857), Type R speakers (Even though I don't like how they sound, they are the best bb has), an alpine MRVF345 (if they can get it), two rockford P212S4's and say a P6001 to run em.

That's a budget system imo

And to whoever said alpine is expensive, you're wrong. Alpine is cheap compared to some of the other stuff out there.

Quick question... Im building my own custom sub box, and I have a few questions on the placement of them. I have a 97 coupe and I haven't decided whether or not I want them against the back seats or near the taillights on the inside (facing each other) with the amps and capacitor on the opposite side (i.e. if the subs were against the back seat, the amps would be on the side and vice versa.) since in the trunk the rear speakers are exposed.. will the subwoofers affect them? 2nd question is... if the subs are facing each other will they create destructive forces at each other? and finally the third question is... how many farads should i be running for the 2 amps? 2.0? or will the 1 farad rockford fosgate capacitor be enough to not destroy my battery/alternator?

You really like the word destroy, don't you?

Rear firing or down firing will sound best. If you have two subs facing different directions you CAN cause cancellation of sound waves.

1 cap is enough for up to 800 watts rms in a honda.

yeah i guess destroy damage break i dont know what else to use.. umm but the question still stands... since the speakers for the back seats are actually in the trunk im wondering if it will affect them... or if you like replace affect with destroy

Actually, if you know what an ISO Box is, both speakers CAN face each other, but one must be out of phase, so both speakers push the same way at the same time.

IMO, your setup looks good. As far as the amp, a 2ch Monoblock V12 amp will be perfect. You may want to consider a better speaker, (subs are good) since the Type R speakers sound tinny to me.
