jus got a set of subs from my friend and i need to get a HU. I have been looking at kenwood and Alpine. Got a few questions, waht is the bass engine feature on the alpines? It claims to let u adjust the subwoofer level? Does any other company do anything like this? Kenwood allows you to adjust the bass,midrange,and treble, but is that similar to the alpines. Also with the Alpine HU's all i have seen is green buttons on the 98xx models and i was wondering if the colors were changeable because the green wouldnt go well with my car.

ps. Basically what i want is to be able to turn the sub off when i dont want it pounding.....im not very audio orienented if u can tell

 

some alpine units [and others] have sub output RCAs and depending on unit will allow you to adjust sub volume, xover,and/or phase. there alpine units that allow you to change colors. hope this helps 94
