The amp is underpowered for the speakers and sub.

What is the model # of speakers?
What is the make and model of the sub?
Is the sub in a sealed or vented box? 94

let me start by saying i am not looking for an elaborate stereo system. i just want something simple with good sound. i dont want more than 1 amp and i dont want more than a 10" sub.

this is my component set i bought yesterday:

i was thinking about this sub:

this amp from crutchfield says it will power my component set and a sub. The amp at best buy is the next size up i believe from this amp

Yes the amp will drive the component speakers and sub but it is underpowered to drive the sub and speakers to their full potential, and when underpowered you run a much greater risk of damaging the speakers/sub, [especially the sub], a much better amp would be the JL Audio 450/4... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=438 using the 2x75W to drive the components and the 1x300W, [channels 1&2 bridged] to drive the sub. 94
