Default noob deck/sub question

does the deck power the stock speakers or is there an amp or something to run them. i just got a 200 watt sub from my grandma for graduation (2 months later) and i have no amp, but the car came with a 4x48 watt deck. im asking cus my old car (89 sentra), the stock deck did nothing for the speakers and there was a stock amp under the seat.

its a 97 ex civic. im asking cus the sub is a 200 watt 6 1/2 inch and my deck has 4x48 watt. i also got a used jvc 200 watt deck but it only has one set of outs, probally for the stock speakers (im guessing that answers my question right there?).

Your car does not / did not have a factory amp.

The deck is not 192 watts. That's it's peak power rating, so it's probably 18-20 watts RMS. Definitely not enough to run a sub; not even the 200 watt "sub" you've got, which with 6 1/2 inch woofers is not really a sub. Does it have tweeters on it too???

Your JVC deck has one set of outputs not for stock speakers, but for an amp.

You sir, need to learn alot about car audio before working on your car. Please visit http://www.the12volt.com and do some reading before doing anything else besides driving in that car.
