Default alpine 7892 issues

i just got an alpine 7892 headunit (older model 02' i believe) and it works perfect except for the cd player...it works and has all signs of working but it just isnt putting out any sound. the radio works fine though.

Is the HU connected to an amp?
If so make sure you have the proper wire connected to the amps control lead, most Alpine HUs have 2 blue control leads one is blue the other is blue/white one is for power ant. the other is for amp control, if you use the power ant. one for amp control they will only be on when radio is on. 94

fcm you are the man. the only problem is that one of those shitty circuit city harnesses came with the headunit and it only has the power antenna lead (light blue) for some reason. im flat broke so is there another option for me other than buying a new harness?
