What alarm do you have, and where is it mounted?
It doesnt really matter what alarm you have, just throw in the new led, soldier and tape up the new wires and you are done.
The reason i asked to what alarm you have is, because if anyone has some extra alarm LED's laying around like i do, you can just plug a new one into the brain and voila.

Alarms can use 1volt to 12volt leds using, using lower volt led will just blow led, using higher volt led can blow led output of alarm.
