Default Alarm install help ...

Im gettin ready to install a clifford 50.5x into my 94 civic. I have done some research and made diagrams of how i want to run everything. I have a few questions left before i start.

In order to do remote start i need run the (H3)Black/White nuetral safety input to toggle switch(for saftey) then to my parking brake(ebrake) right???

Where do i connect all these remote start wires?
Blue 200ma - status output
Orange/Black 200ma anit grnd/Grnd when arm
Violet - 200ma starter trigger
Orange - 200ma accessory trigger
Pink - 200ma ingnition trigger
Yelow + ignition input to remote start
Pink/White 200ma programmable ign/accessory

I also had a question about sensors. Right now i just want to get the alarm put on, could i go back later on and install tilt and audio sensor with out a big hassle. i relize i will have to back to the brain but other than that should be too much right.

and the last question regards relays, when running a kill switch would these be a normally open or normally closed relay? would there be a difference if there was 87a? and if i wanted to add a switch where would i?

thanks for all your help guys i really appriciate it!

ok, if i ran the relay like this, it means the fuel pump(for example) would always be on, and when i arm the alarm, it would kill it. Then with the switch i could also turn it on and off.

caution
This product is designed for fuel injected, automatic transmission
vehicles only. Use of this product in a standard transmission
vehicle is dangerous and contrary the product's intended use.

From page 6 of the owners guide.

You are going to need a "fail-safe" module, either the DEI one or the one from Peripheral.

Installing a remote start on a 5 speed without a fail-safe is at the very least not a smart thing to do and could end up damaging the car, at worst it is stupid and could get someone killed, lets hope it's just your dads car parked in front of yours when you start it in gear, not your kid sister and her friend playing hide and seek.:0 94

One more thing, guess what your insurance provider will say if you try and make a claim for damage/liability because the car started in gear.

Blue 200ma - status output ...............................only needed for OEM alarms
Orange/Black 200ma anit grnd/Grnd when arm ...... for holding a relay open, such as fuel/ign kill
Violet - 200ma starter trigger ............................ power/signal for relay which jumps starter wire
Orange - 200ma accessory trigger ...................... power/signal for relay which can turn on ac/defroster/heater/etc
Pink - 200ma ingnition trigger ............................ power/signal for relay jumping ignition wire
Yelow + ignition input to remote start ................. ign-switched to 87a pin on the ignition relay above
Pink/White 200ma programmable ign/accessory ..... kinda like ORANGE above
Normally I hate adding to quotes, but it works best in this case. All DEI alarms tend to use this setup for the 'remote start primary harness' to the 'heavy gauge relay satellite' harness, basicly all the remote-start relays. Newer systems have the relays inside the brain.

As for the relay, 87a is basicly connected to 30 when the relay isn't powered. It makes the relay either normally-open OR normally-closed, depending on which wire you use. I'd run it normally-closed if you use a switch, meaning you have to power the relay to complete the fuel pump circuit (use 87 and 30). To use the power-when-armed wire, you'd do the opposite, complete the fuel pump circuit when the relay is off (87a and 30).

BTW I rigged up a magnetic switch for my shifter. If its in 1st or 2nd, the magnetic reed switch is out of the magnet's range (by ~3x). In 3rd and 4th my starter doesn't have the ***** to overcome the e-brake. Its a small neodymium in a steel tube, so its very focused in a straight line.

Thanks, we'll both remember that rule if either of us decide to make a thread dedicated to that. I'll just have to state that my car is off-road use only, has no rims, totalled, etc, and it technically started life as an auto.

If anyone has links to actual statues (esp for Wisconsin) about this, please fill me in. I can't find squat, and even my brother (Milwaukee Cop) can't seem to get an answer.

Ok you win, but that wasnt the only thing i was asking so if you would like to help me with my other question rather than concentrate on something you dont like i would appriciate it! And for the record, not sure if you ever read the parts that says i was plannin on running a switch, and parking brake has to be up, plus hi profile mentioned the magnetic switch so im lookin into it. I dont understand how people can go around doing **** like this, i have something better to do than type all this ****. I just wanted to see how it makes me feel, and i feel like i have no life, with my finger stuck up my ***, so ill go find threads to kill! ... What a waste!

You think I have nothing better to do then point out the form rules to guys who should know them.
Your asking how to do something illegal and unsafe, and if it was just you or your car that gets hurt or damage, I wouldn't give a ****, but it's no0bs like you who Micky Mouse remote start systems into standards that are meant for automatics only that end up damaging other peoples property and injuring others, so if you think I am giving you a hard time, suck it up, spend the $s do do it right and I will give you all the help I can.

If not, quit your whining and bitching because someone pointed out how to do it so that it is not illegal, unsafe and against form rules. 94

COMPUSTAR has Autostarts specific to autos and manuals..... They actually own the patend on that.. DEI pays them royalties for some of their options used.
