Default Aftermarket radio installation

I have an antenna adpater for the Ody (05-) aftermarket radio. It has a plug for the Honda harness on one end, a standard radio plug on the other end plus a wire (blue for HO-6 adapter). Where should this wire be attached? The Odyssey has an in-glass antenna. Does this wire need to be powered/grounded? The adapter didn't come with any instructions.

Blue is normally a power ant. trigger lead, the radio harness adapter, [HO-6 maybe] will have a blue lead, connect the two together. 94

Thanks. You are right that the radio harness has a blue wire for the power antenna. The antenna adapter is a different harness with its own blue wire.

I am confused here because the Odyssey doesn't actually have a power antenna. I'd hate to blow the electronics on my wife's van.

Well, technically, it does. It's a powered glass mount antenna, which means it has a signal amplifier in it.

If you're concerned about hooking up the wire to power, try it without it first. If it receives radio stations like it did before, leave it alone. If not, hook it up.

Thank you. I didn't realize that Ody has a signal amplifier - in that case, the antenna adapter will need the antenna power out from the stereo harness. As you suggest, I will first try it without the connection.

Thanks, B18C_EJ8. Connecting the "blue" wire to the antenna power out from the stereo unit is indeed the right thing to do. Please see the following:
