Default ? about sub direction

im building an enclosure/amp rack that takes up the whole back of my crx. i want to get 2 15s but i dont know if i should have them facing up or back. i know i should just wait and see which would sound better but i have to finish the enclosure by next friday, and its going to take the entire week either way.

i had 15s before facing up, and they sounded great. i also had 2 12s facing back and they sounded really good. but now i just dont know, the angle the 15s would be if they were facing back would not be very steep and i dont think it would sound very good....but i dont nkow!

aah im goin crazy. o one more thing, the enclosure would be pretty much bigger if i face them up. and no i dont want to port haha.

sorry for such a long post by the way! thanks!

i find that in most cases, facing up in a single cabin sounds the best. although there are expectional cases, but a crx wouldn't be one of it.

my friend's tiburon was loud as hell with the subs facing up towards the rear glass. Something about reflecting off the glass at that angle i guess. at first he had 4 MTX 8000's 12's in a box giving them 1 cubic foot each run by 2 6500D's. Nice setup. Then he switched to two Treo's in a custom ported box run by a Concept 2400 watt amp. Damn nice. Then he stuck two JBL GTI's in place of the treos.. wow. All these times the box faced up. We tried facing it front and the sound seemed to die out a little.

Here is the problem with two 15's facing up in a CRX. There is no where for the air to go. I had two 15" eclipses (Xmax of 31 mm) needless to say they move alot of air. In my civic trunk facing up, there is no where for it to go, so the air exchange completly distroyed the sound of the bass. You hear the Shh Shh more than anything. When they face back, they bounce off of the trunk and sucks it from the cabing (with the seat down).

Don't build them facing anydirection that isn't angled into the cabin, (front)
