5th GEN STEREO/UPGRADE to DVD in DASH?
I want to upgrade my sound system in my 2001 Prelude. I looked on CRUTCHFIELD and they say that the Double DIN DVD players don't fit in 5th gen Preludes. I have done research on line and I have found mounting kits for Double DIN for the 5 Gen prelude online. (Do a google search for Metra 99-7801 or Scosche HA1566) They say they do exist. My question is are there any members here that have mounted a double din unit in their car? My second question is regarding the stock stereo itself, I was wondering if the stock stereo has pre amp outputs? I want to start installing my amp and new speakers but I don't want to buy a another stereo. Especially if later I'm able to fit a Double DIN Kenwood DVD screen/player in there with a mounting kit.
Thanks for any help or pointers in advance!

Yes you can install a single din with a kit into your car, a double din will also fit but a little custom work is needed, [mounting brackets] the double din HU should come with a "trim" .
No there are no "pre amp" outputs on the stock HU, but then you can use a "LOC" to to convert the speaker output to a low level output.
BTW, I would change the HU before I change the speakers, unless you are "amping" all the speakers. 94
