Two questions, what kind of aftermarket HU, and are you using an adpt. harness, [ did you leave the oem radio harness plug in the car and use the adpt. to plug into it]
The aftermarket HU will have a blue/white lead and maybe and maybe a blue lead, if it only has a blue/white lead it is the amp/ant. control lead if it also has a blue lead the blue/white is the amp control and the blue is the ant. control lead, did you use one ot the other of these leads? 94

Sorry the link only gives me a blank page.
So when you wired the aftermarket HU you did not use a harness adpt. you "hardwired" the harness of the aftermarket HU to the oem radio harness after removing the oem plug, correct? how many wires of the oem harness did you have left over? And how did you know what wires of the oem harness connected to the harness of the aftermarket HU? link... http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/HA-Wiring.pdf 94

Wait, did you say you cut out the factory wiring harness altogether? Because the colors of the wires are different behind it.
