same RMS power.. just wondering why people make single, and dual VC subs?
im on the market for a factory sub replacement for my car, right now it has a DVC 6.5"
since they're isn't alot of 6.5"s on the market, im stuck between 3 manufactures. pretty much same rms power..
kicker svc 4ohm
jl w3 svc 4ohm
elemental design dvc 4ohm
so since its a sinlge sub, my dvc 4 ohm is out.. can't wire it 4ohm final.
so im trying to understand.. do i get the same bang for the buck with single vc, as i would a dual vc? or does the DVC hog up more energy with 2 seperate VC's?

The main advantage with DVC subs is flexibility with wiring when using multiple subs, as for "same bang for the buck", assuming everything else is the same, [not likely] a 300W SVC would be the same as a 300W DVC in regards to the "energy" they would "hog up".
You should be looking for a sub in the wattage range and impedance needed, you do not need to worry if it is a SVC or DVC, just that the impedance load and wattage is correct.94

ok, i understand.. i asked another audio nut also, he said basically the same thing.
i was just figuring, imagine if you will, 2 engines in 1 car running, you prolly have great acceleration, and power, but when your coasting, your just wasting gas...
so i was thinking maybe a DVC would be great for power, but then just cruising, would suck more energy than a SVC... good to know.
