Default 12volt source for amp?

Any suggestions to hook up the 12volt wire? My amp was wired to the fuse panel but now it's not getting any power. Any alternatives?

Which wire are you talking about?
Is it the 12v constant wire (the power wire) or the remote turn on.

Which fuse box is it hooked up to, the one in the engine bay or in the cab.

If it is the 12v constant it should go straight to the battery.

If it is the remote wire it should go the the remote output on the radio but, if you have a stock radio hook it up to the ignition or switch wire behind the radio.

Not necessarily for example on my car there are two twelve volt constant plugs on the fuse box in the car, why would you add an extra wire onto your battery for no reason

I meant the power wire.

Wasn't sure what he meant by 12v if it was the power wire or the remote wire.

I have seen some people connect the power and remote wire to the fuse box in the engine bay instead of the battery and radio before. Also seen people just jam the remote wire to the clock fuse under the dash.

He said 12v wire so it could be either power or remote since they both provide 12v. I know a lot of installer here seen all kinds that made them think what the Fudge.

I don't know I guess I should ask to clarify the question first. OP probably meant the remote wire.

It depends on what type of amp you have but most high power amps require you to run your own fat wire so that the wire can support the current requirements of the amp. Are you trying to attach your amp to a tiny wire that's been factory installed? If so, don't. You have to run your own wire.

id say any amp you should run directly off of the battery. Its really not that hard. on a 99 civic, you can even run the wire through the factory grommet thats behind/below the battery; no drilling needed....im not sure if the other generations of civics have this though.

wow, even if i had an old school little 100w rms amp, i would still have a dedicated power wire running DIRECTLY to the amp, only to be interrupted by the wire's fuse holder..
