Taking off work early today to head to the exhaust shop to align the tips so they're perfect, and to weld a straight pipe in place of the resonator. Hopefully the ABS module comes in today too, it's been starting to sprinkle lately

Thanks dude. No idea at this point but I'm saving my pennies for something nice. I'm tired of seeing all these A4s running around with ASAs and ADRs and knockoffs, if I'm going to get wheels, I'm going to do it right. For now, the stockers are good for me

So yesterday, the exhaust guy told me he wouldn't have time to do it, after I had taken like 3 hours off of work to get to the appointment he had set up for me No big deal. The ABS module came today, plugged that bad boy in. No more blinking ABS light in my cluster, and it's nice to know I won't slide all over the place next time I have to slam on the brakes.

Here's a bunch of (shitty) shots from the detail I gave her last weekend.

Here she is pre-wash

The supplies...

Soaking everything

After the wash...

This was just the beginning of my day Check out the beautiful overspray the body shop left me on my quarter panel...

And the swirls...

After claying the car, closeup on the quarter panel where the overspray was. No more

Little bit of polish on the exhaust...

50/50 after buffing with one pass on the hood

Second pass 50/50

The quarter panel w/ overspray removed and buffed with all 3 Menzerna products

Horrible after shots (I think I left the camera on manual focus this whole time and forgot )

Not perfect, but damn better

Thanks dude! Feel free to hit me up with a PM anytime

Got the car aligned yesterday after I dropped my subframe to change my oil pan about a month ago, kinda knocked it off spec a little bit. Also had one of my tires patched... damn nails Still have to figure out a way to get those tips mounted flush to the bumper, because I'd rather not have an exhaust shop chop them off and reweld them into place...

Meh, movin slow. Very slow. Came to my senses and decided to start paying off a bit of debt I have so she won't see much attention over the next few months. I came upon a set of gold VSXXs for her, almost pulled the trigger, but the seller bumped his price up at the last minute.

I had a straight pipe welded in place of the resonator, and had it re-hung, so my exhaust is sitting snug and has such a nicer tone. It gurgles and pops between shifts and when decelerating in gear. I love it

Today I got some work done, not by choice however. My power steering cooler has had a dent in it ever since I hit a racoon on the highway some 6 months ago. It was slowly leaking fluid and I told myself why replace when you can upgrade? So I bought a generic transmission cooler from AutoZone, but put it aside. Today, pulling out of the post office parking lot, I ripped my lip, power steering cooler, and outside temp. sensor on a piece of rebar sticking out of a parking block, so it was time to get it done.

It actually ripped the temp sensor right off!

The supplies

Ready for some light surgery

The mangled cooler

Extending the hoses so they can reach the new cooler

Test fitting the cooler. My A/C took a beating from the bumper being pushed into it when I his the racoon as well

Running the hoses

Checking clearance, voila! Fits like a charm.

Fastened all clamps and secured it to the A/C condenser and moved on to the temp sensor. Snapped it clean off...

Made sure it displayed the proper temp in my cluster, 74*, yeay Cali! Sprayed the sensor with MAF cleaner just for fun, taped her all up, and had to create a new mounting point as the previous one was destroyed by Mr. Racoon.

Everything back on

All back together

First off, I really love your A4, I never knew you had a build thread going on it.

When you put your suspension on, did you get it aligned right away?

Car looks great man

Thanks dude I got it aligned probably about a week after I put the suspension on. I learned the hard way after slamming my DA and blowing out my brand new tires in like 3 months after not aligning it

I like it. Right now I like it. It's a love hate thing. Sometimes, I have this urge to sell it and pick up another Honda because to me they have so much more personality. This thing also breaks a good amount more than my Hondas did, but nothing huge. It's taught me quite alot about working on cars I can say that much. But when it's good, I love it. It's my first boosted car and I don't think I'll be going back to NA anytime soon

Dude thats soooo funny that you say that^^^^^

Most of the time, I hate my Jetta lol. But deep down, I really have this special love for the thing. Half the time, I just wanna go trade it in on a Fit sport. But as soon as I hit boost, its all forgotten lol.

I just gotta get some more **** done to free up some horsepower and clear up some boost lag

Pretty much exactly how I feel When I hear it spool up I just love it again. And that's on a stock turbo. I'm excited at the thought of what I'll feel once (if) I upgrade.

As you could probably tell by looking at the first page, I added the CAI before anything else really. It definitely helped throttle response and turbo lag in 5th gear on the freeway. But the exhaust and testpipe really made such a difference. The car is going to be tuned by Unitronic within the next week or so, adds a good 40hp/80tq and pushes the boost to 18psi or so, that'll be fun

Actually, still debating in my head whether I want to go APR/GIAC X/Unitronic but I think I've really made up my mind with Uni, we'll see though.

Never heard of Unitronic, but I've always been leaning towards APR. Those are pretty much my big plans next year. Intake, Down pipe and exhaust, suspension, Forge DV, chipped and tuned probably on 93.

I'm soooo ready for it. COMEEEEEEEE ONNNNNNNN SPRINGGGGGG!!!!

They're pretty much the go to tune for BT applications, and they offer a really nice rebate on their 630cc files if you buy their stage 1 reflash. It's supposed to give you the same gains as APR but with much better low end and throttle response.

Can't WAIT to be tuned

Finally got my windshield replaced today.

Figured I might as well get something else done on it today while it was sitting there. Got around to rotating the tires after being over due by a few thousand miles at least.

And a couple quick shots after a short drive.

Well, technically the car was flashed last week, but the program was having some problems.

Hasn't been holding the increased boost because my car keeps going into limp mode when I spike at 18psi, so it's just like driving the car stock. I will finally be getting this problem fixed tomorrow. Can't wait to finally enjoy this thing.

Got the new file loaded yesterday. Hitting 20psi feels so good The shop hooked me up with a few free dyno pulls since it took so long to get sorted out. Nothing impressive, I think it was something like 170whp/200wtq. They're emailing out the dyno sheets on Monday. I think that dyno may read low since a stage 3 S4 was pulling 290/290.

But it pulls like crazy now. For fun I put it up against my buddy's chipped 03 Mini S with exhaust and a few other things and pulled a good amount on him. I think I might go to the track this week to see what it'll run.
