BZLxSHTSWEAK collab

So today was the first day I've touched the car since the last update. I went to ATL 2 weekends ago to hang with my homie Gregg (woodstockstr) and others, we hit up the Motorsports Nationals show and did other fun stuff in the city. This weekend I went to GT Live @ VIR with my roomie Ben (hondaboy4life) and some other friends. We camped out, saw lots of road race and drifting action. Had a damn good time... maybe Ben will chime in later with some pics from the weekend

Anywho, the weather was prime today, so I decided to go ahead and get the motor out of the car. Thanks to Ben for snapping a few quick pics for me





And the culprit. Scored cylinder walls. Don't ask.



I've got a few options for the rebuild, depending on how in depth I wanna go and how much time I'm willing to have the car down. I really want to drive her and start hitting the track, especially after this weekend. I was quite happy with the power:weight ratio of the car, even if it was just a stock jdm gsr, so I'm thinking I might be happy with just re-honing and re-ringing the p72 pistons, and throwing a set of ITR/CTR cams in the head and bolting it together with ARP headstuds. Another option would be do a high comp oem n/a build, using a set of jdm p30 pistons. That should yield about 11:6:1 compression, which I have a feeling would have me itching for more cam and head work. That's where the $$ and downtime would start piling up. Anways, I'll try to keep you guys posted on the progress.

Call this a stupid reason, but I don't think I could bring myself to go drilling out the stock mount on the frame rail and chopping into the metal on such a low mile chassis for a k-swap. Guess I'll never be fast

yeah man, today was just p e r f e c t ! I really just want to try one of your kosei's on to see if it will clear my brakes, it'll take 2 min. Volks might be up for sale soon...
