Traded my Momo Mod8 for this back in September but the dude wanted it back four days later.

Looked like crap when I got it, but I polished it with a buffing wheel.

If I get another one, I think I'd get one with black spokes.

Filling up for the ride home from State College. Averaged just over 39MPG over a 330 mile trip.

Still need to get that front fender bolted down properly in the corner.

I hate sunken wheels.

Thanks man.

Unfortunately I never make it up there anymore. I'm rarely off on weekends, but I did manage to make it up for homecoming.

My brother wrestles and lives way down on Allen Street.

Thanks man!

Yeah I love the MKVs. I saw one lowered and on wide wheels a long time ago and knew I had to have one.

Plus, I just love hatchbacks.

Went to put the rear sticker on and it peeled the paint right with it.

I love how haggard this car is.

How does driving the VW that low compare to driving the hatch as low as it is now?

LOL, you would!

Did you sell the R yet? What's next?

It's like night and day. The VW is a much more refined and smoother ride, whereas the Honda is bouncy and not as pleasant.

Granted the springs/coilovers on the Honda are nearly 11 years old and the Tokicos are set on 4F/5R.

Only thing that sucks about driving the VW is constantly worrying about the front fenders with the aggressive offset wheels. When I turn my wheel either way, the tires hit the fenders.

Front driver side ride height is still a bit off. Need to get it corrected asap.

Liking the last two pictures! One last question though if you please... how is the ground clearance between the two? I hear on VW's its horrible. Im thinking about getting a new GTi but im worried about destroying a brand new car.

Homecoming was epic this year. Good note to go out on as I'm about to graduate this winter and just had my 2nd round interview at Honda (fingers crossed). Cannot wait to graduate.

PS polish those faces, would look nasty if done right.

Thanks.

I feel like the Honda has A LOT more ground clearance.

I am much more paranoid driving the VW, which is not nearly as low as the Honda. Nearly tucking wheel on the Honda it doesn't scrape on as much as the VW does.

Then again, the VW cost $35,000 and the Honda is only worth about $1,000.

In all seriousness though, get the GTI. You will love it. You can tuck tire and still get around pretty feasibly.

Yeah man, I had a good time up there. Good luck on the interview, but do not rush your time away. The "real world" is no fun compared to times in State College.

I've been thinking about polishing them. Maybe once I throw the steelies back on.
