Re: my very basic ls turbo build thread.
good except I found out the reason that throttle body was binding up is because the tps broke on the inside. so Im gonna need another damn tps.
welding up my charge pipes today out of mild steel, for some reason I keep getting air bubbles in my welds and when I grind them down they get leaks. Iv tried almost everything, been working on 1 charge pipe for the last 2 hours in 20 degree weather. its so frustrating, once I fix one leak, I find another one. ugh

wired up my gm 3 bar map today, if any one has a 92 civic with the map wired thru the cars harness here is the conversion:
abc refers to the picture of gm's 3 bar map on hondata's site
green w blue stripe = A
white = B
yellow w green stripe = c
also found a cool way to have a junk yard style vacuum manifold. they come on older civics like the 84-87 kind. heres a pic, I think it will work pretty well and saves me money on T's and crappy boost signals.
all tucked away
also took the evap purge selenoid off the top of my obd 2 intake mani and jb welded a vac port in it.

Re: my very basic ls turbo build thread.
thanks man, I worked on my charge pipes tonight, Im some what dissapointed that I can't do them in straight mild steel, but what ever works works, I had a ton of random couplers that I pick up every time I go to the junk yard and see a new turbo volvo or dsm. here are a few pics from tonight.
bumper dump exhaust, still need to make a beauty plate out of aluminum

Re: my very basic ls turbo build thread.
wether I welded a 90 or run that coupler there would still be the same number of couplers...
and I would have done alot more welds like I said earlier but I was having some issues with my welder. I dont know if it was because it was 20 degrees out...

Re: my very basic ls turbo build thread.
tried to start the car up today, it coded 21 lol, thats for vtec spool selenoid valve or something. other then that it fired up first try. had to fix one small oil leak coming from the T from the oil feed line and I need to hook up the boost gauge and fill the tranny back up with oil. hopefully Ill get my base map this week from rrev so I can work out some of the small kinks Ill have. then off to get it tuned
