Yeah, I think its possible to to an ebay build and have it look decent. I'm not really going for appearance, but I'm not planning on buying total garbage. Not all of the parts are ebay brand, just bought on ebay thats all, lol. As far as updates go, I'm still waiting on parts, sorry this sucks! lol. I'm working on it, I'm working on it.
SLACKER!!!! *looks around*
the answer is yes. IF you know how to use ebay and not buy complete ****. if you know what you're doing and know what you're looking for/at, you'll have no problem

PICS! btw is it possible to buy all ebay **** without it looking un-tasteful? like I know you can buy coilovers, and **** you cant see, but as far as intake, engine "dress up" kits and what not, I was wondering if you could make it a really nice car with the parts just being from e-bay. my 02 cents.
i actually have a complete kit for a SOHC all you would need it a different Turbo Manifold

Thats a good deal on all of those parts you have for sale. I might have to consider it. I also need some other ****, but the mail man is so slow lately for some reason. Guess i should have ordered it sooner huh,
Subscribed. Good luck on the build man, can't wait to see how it turns out.
Just a heads up, when I was in highschool I did a budget build on my si and I got an ebay wastegate. It worked fine for about a month but then it got stuck open. I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I ended up using a friend's spare wg. My intercooler, hoses and boost controller held up perfectly though.
Currently, a good bit of parts on my 00' EX are ebay parts, and so far a I've had some headaches witha few of them.
-foglight switch went bad 2 hours after install. Got a replacement switch which also went bad after about a week. Ended up making my own switch until foglights finally crapped out on me 2 months later. Ended up switching to OEM Raybrig fogs and couldn't be happier.
-Ebay header didn't fit properly. It was slanted slightly to the left which in turn moved the rest of my exhaust system to the left, making it touch my shift linkage making it extremely hard for me to shift. Also, o2 sensor bung was right underneath driver's side axle, so if I were to hit a bump it would pretty much break it. I had to go to a muffler shop and have them relocate the o2 sensor and cut and reweld the header so that everything lined up properly.
-Ebay Type-R headligths fit and work perfectly fine, but are now fogging excessively. Minor problem that can be fixed by resealing them.
I'm not bashing ebay parts or anything though, I'm still rocking my ebay lip, grille, headlights and header proudly. I am however hesitant to buy any major parts from ebay, but I totally get where you're coming from on your build.
Again, good luck and I hope everything turns out great. You're really making a lot of progress.

yeah, that is kinda funny, lol. where you been andy? new girl? too good now huh, yeah, i see how it is. i got my brakes today, so i'll probably put them on this weekend. ordered a blow off valve. bought xenocron obd1 conversion harness off ebay for $50. and, yesterday i made a deal on some intercooler piping. all i need for that, is one U pipe and some couplers and clamps. big stuff is still to come yet. i'm dealing with limited funds for this project. lol.
lol yea i know. it's from back in the days when h-t was in it's prime. i would change it but the new vb system doesn't allow for long sigs anymore, so if i were to edit it, i wouldn't be able to use it again, so i decided to keep it lol.
can't wait to see more pics. what kind of blowoff valve did you order? i've always wanted to see how those xs-engineering style ones hold up and sound.

any way
lets see some work done to this teg!!!
lol you have my friend to thank for that. he was reading my sig and wanted to show me how much better a one line sig would look, i wasn't really paying attention and he changed it, so now vb won't let me use my original sig anymore
. but i shall find a way to restore it back in all it's glory lol

ok, so i didn't spend any money on ebay, but the whole point of this build is to save money and spend as little as possible. today i picked up some intercooler piping from a buddy of mine. and, i got some tokico blues, brand new in the box, with factory warranty papers!!!
the top piece here is what i already had. cost me nothing. came with the car. its an ebay cold air intake. $0.00

here's the ic piping i got today. came with 2 vibrand bellows, and the clamps. size is 2". goes from turbo, to intercooler. cost me $15

here's the shocks i got. got them on here from a guy for cheap. brand new in box, never even mocked up or nothing. just taken out for the first time today. $100 picked up

i'll probably do an install of the shocks within the next week. i would also like to remove the ac, and power steering and install my intercooler and piping.
